Two Tulare women were involved in an automobile accident on Wednesday, when their car struck a tractor-trailer rig on U.S. 99 in Selma. Christine Martins, a passenger in the car, was killed; the driver, Dianna Maurico, suffered major injuries. According to the the California Highway Patrol, Raymond Thiessen of Madera, driver of the big-rig, lost control of his truck and swerved across the on-coming lanes of traffic, where he was struck by Mauricio's vehicle.
